Asst. Coach @ Thrive Fitness| PT Trainer | CF-L1
Cole is originally from Sioux City, IA and graduated from Hinton Community High School in 2012. He is an alum of Iowa State, where he currently has a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Military Science. Cole also commissioned into the United States Army from the Iowa State Army ROTC program, and has been actively serving in the Iowa National Guard for over 6 years
Cole’s love for fitness began at the age of 16. He started working out at the YMCA; but frankly, he had no idea what he was doing. One day, a gentleman caught his eye and Cole found the courage to go talk to him. Cole was curious about his fitness regime- and all he said was, “you’ve just got to get moving man.” From there, it all took off. Cole started training with him every day and actively learning about fundamental movements. He was taught how to squat, deadlift, pull, push, hinge; what the body was meant to do.
Cole’s first true coaching experience began his sophomore year of college where he interned and soon started instructing foundations for CrossFit. He worked directly under Aaron McNew; head coach of CrossFit Ames, and eventually began teaching classes once Cole got his CrossFit Level 1 Certification. Once he graduated college, Cole spent some time in San Diego learning and interning at CrossFit 858. Overall, Cole has a total of 4 years coaching experience.
Cole is now happy to bring his passion to fitness back to his hometown. His goals are to continuously educate you, to bring energy to every single class, to help others maximize potential, and simply have you leave with a smile. Cole is eager to meet and work with all of you soon!
